I know from first hand experience that the holidays can be a difficult time for many of us for so many different reasons. Whether it's because you're chronically ill or grieving lost loved ones, or whether it's just because you're financially challenged and struggle with the commercialism of it all - the holidays can be panic or even misery inducing.

I read an article in the Guardian today about loneliness having gone up nine-fold in the last few years, and it made me think this was an important post to write.

I asked spirit if they could channel some thoughts about this matter. My higher self and my Grandma had the following to say:

All we want to say is this -- if you're alone and struggling during these holiday times, you aren't alone. Quite the opposite in fact, because you only have to look around to find others are struggling too.

There is no hierarchy in the afterlife and we treat each other the same no matter our personal circumstances -- so people on earth should too.

Start by looking after yourself. Self care is of vital importance, especially at this time of year, so eat that extra pie, have that takeaway, and if money allows, get yourself a gift. If it doesn't, that doesn't matter either. It's all about you and what makes you feel best today.

I really hope this reaches anybody who needs to hear this message at this time!

Have a safe and happy holiday season.

Anne Rose
